A project to collect and make available the history of the Pilton area of Barnstaple in North Devon, England. The Pilton Story is collecting memories, tales, documents, recordings and photographs of the settlement of Pilton which has a written history dating back over 1000 years to pre-Norman England. It helps in researching, recording and explaining that history through images, oral records and written contributions.
The ArchiveWhat can I find there?
Our archive content is in the form of video, photography, audio and documents. Shortly you will be able to view some of this material through the five Themes pages - People, Buildings, Objects, Stories and Art - which will summarise some of the more interesting or recent items collected. For the moment you can simply browse or search the archive by author, date, type or keywords.

The archive is growing and our team of volunteers working from Pilton Church Hall aims to bring you new and interesting material daily. If you would like to contribute, please contact us with your story using the Submit form. One of our team will then contact you if further information is required. As well as simply telling us your story, you will also be able to submit your own photographs, videos, audio recordings or text.
